In short

We collect what we need to look up a sale and pursue a claim. We do not sell your personal information. We do not ask for your Social Security number or bank details to start, and we never ask for them before there is a signed agreement in place.

This policy covers Undistributed Refund Experts (“we”, “us”), this website, our case review form, and our calls, letters, emails and texts.

What we collect

  • What you give us: your name, the property address, your phone number and email address, and anything you choose to tell us in the form or by phone.
  • Consent records: the exact consent text you agreed to, the time you agreed to it, the page address, your browser’s user agent, and the IP address the submission came from. We keep this so we can show what you were shown and what you agreed to.
  • If you sign an agreement: the identification and documents a claim requires, such as proof of identity, deed history, and probate or heirship records.
  • Website data: our web host may record standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested. This site uses no advertising trackers.

Public records

We find surplus funds by reading public records: foreclosure and tax sale results, court filings, deed records, and the funds held after a sale. If we contacted you first, that is where your name and the property came from. Nothing came from a credit bureau, a bank, or a purchased list.

How we use it

  • To look up the sale and prepare your written case review.
  • To contact you about your case by phone, email, mail, or, if you opt in, text message.
  • To prepare, file and follow a claim if you sign an agreement.
  • To meet legal obligations and keep records of consent.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share it only as needed to do the work:

  • The licensed attorney who handles your claim.
  • The court, county, or other office that holds the funds and processes the claim.
  • Service providers, such as the company that hosts this website and our case review form, the system we use to track enquiries, and our email and document-signing services, bound to protect it.
  • Anyone the law requires us to disclose it to.

Text messages

Mobile numbers and opt-in consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out. See our SMS Terms.

Security and retention

We limit access to your information to the people working your file, and we keep it only as long as we need it for your claim, for our legal obligations, and to show the consent you gave us.

What you send through the case review form is encrypted before it is stored, using a key held by us and not by the company that hosts the form. We keep that record for five years, after which it is deleted automatically. If you sign an agreement with us, the documents your claim requires are kept for as long as the law and our professional obligations require.

So that we can actually respond to you, we also copy your name, the property address and your contact details into the system we use to track enquiries. The record of the consent you gave — the exact wording you agreed to and the internet address your enquiry came from — is not copied there. It stays only in the encrypted record.

Your choices

  • Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
  • Ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it for a claim or by law.
  • Tell us to stop contacting you, by phone, email, or by replying STOP to a text.
